Spain’s Meteorological Agency (AEMET) have extended the yellow temperature warning to tomorrow.

Today was forecast to be the peak of the heatwave, with an initial forecast of 36 degrees Celsius peak. However, as is common on Lanzarote, the island had other plans.

It is still hot but not as hot as first forecast and as of the time of writing, Playa Blanca has seemingly avoided the heatwave with a cloudy morning and cool breeze to match.

That’s not to say you should take the warning lightly, it’s still just as important to slap on the sun cream, seek shade and drink plenty of fluids.

The yellow heat warning will activate tomorrow at 11am and will remain active until 8pm. You can expect temperatures in the high 30s.

From Thursday onwards the temperatures look set to decrease, 29, 27, 26, 27, 27 on the coming days, and rain is forecast for the weekend and next Monday.
