Hariá Ayuntamiento has placed information signs on its most popular bathing zones.
The signs have information about the location and size of the areas where swimming can take place, risks, facilities and emergency telephone numbers
The signs will be located at Playa La Garita in Arrieta, which already has a lifesaving post; the lagoon of Caletón Blanco & Las Cocinitas, just south of Órzola ; and at Bajo la Espina in Punta Mujeres.
“Haría a town that is committed to the safety of bathers,” said Beaches Councillor Marcos Lemes.
Last month a bather drowned at Playa de la Cantería, just west of Órzola, where a sign is on display prohibiting bathing.
