Arrecife Ayuntamiento is still attempting to find a solution that will permit Luis Fonsi, singer of global hit Despacito, to perform in the island’s capital on 25th August to celebrate the end of the fiestas of San Ginés.
According to the Ayuntamiento, the main problem is that Fonsi has insisted on a catwalk extending from the stage into the crowd. The Coastal Department has declared that this would be illegal if the concert were to be held at its traditional venue of Playa Reducto.
If it proves impossible to adapt the stage on the beach, Arrecife insist the concert will take place elsewhere, most probably the Recinto Ferial.
