As Bodykinetik marks its fifth anniversary in Puerto del Carmen, the milestone reflects not only years in business but also a reputation built on professionalism, personalised care and consistently positive results for residents, visitors and athletes alike.

Reaching five years in business is an achievement for any independent clinic, particularly in a destination where both residents and holidaymakers have a wide choice of health and wellbeing services. For Bodykinetik in Puerto del Carmen, the anniversary is less about the number of years and more about the trust that has been built one client at a time.

When Francis Barbier-Martins opened the clinic in 2021, the ambition was never to become the largest massage practice on the island. Instead, the focus was on providing professional assessments, tailored treatments and honest recommendations designed to help people move better and feel better.

Over the past five years, that approach has attracted a diverse clientele. Elite and recreational athletes have visited to support their training and recovery, while many others have simply been looking for relief from everyday aches, recurring pain or restricted movement.

The clinic’s growing reputation has been shaped by the experiences of those clients. Today, Bodykinetik holds a collection of 5-star Google reviews, reflecting consistently positive feedback from people who have experienced its treatments.

One recent client described an 80-minute session as “so worth it”, explaining that restricted movement in the hips and shoulders noticeably improved afterwards. Another praised Francis for taking the time to assess their concerns, clearly explain the treatment process and provide a positive overall experience. A third highlighted the calm atmosphere of the clinic, saying they left feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and slept soundly after a 90-minute Lomi-Lomi massage.

For Francis, these comments represent something more significant than ratings alone. Each review reflects someone who felt listened to, understood and left in a better condition than when they arrived.

His own journey into massage therapy began through personal experience. An active sports enthusiast, freediving and scuba diving instructor, cyclist and former volleyball player, recurring back problems led him to explore a range of therapies before discovering the benefits of deep tissue massage. That experience inspired a career change, with professional training at The Miki School in Paris and qualifications in Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Swedish, Thai and Lomi-Lomi massage. He is also a member of the French Federation of Massage Therapists (FFMBE).

As Bodykinetik celebrates its fifth anniversary in 2026, the milestone marks a reputation built on expertise, integrity and genuine care. Looking ahead, the goal remains unchanged: to continue raising the standard of massage therapy in Lanzarote, helping each client move with greater comfort and confidence.
