Five pateras (boats) have arrived at Lanzarote in the last 48 hours, carrying a total of 248 migrants.
Earlier this morning, Maritime Rescue located two vessels 15 nautical miles north-east of Lanzarote and escorted them to the pìer in Arrecife. This followed the interception of three boats yesterday.
The migrants will initially be held in the temporary assistance centre for foreigners in Arrecife.
