Ian Lane reports on UD Lanzarote’s shaky start to the season, and a brilliant fund-raising competition with unbeatable prizes.

The Rojillos have lost three of their opening four matches of the season. Nevertheless, spirits remain high despite Lanzarote being the only island not currently allowing fans to attend matches.

Following three defeats on the bounce, Lanzarote´s home game on the 8th November against Gran Canarian side Arucas CF was vital to restore confidence and to kickstart the season.

Being 0-1 down at half time was not in the script, but a brilliant second half produced two late goals and Lanzarote´s first points of the season were in the bag.

The club has organised a superb fund raising Christmas campaign called UD Lanzarote´s 12 Days of Christmas. Each day for 12 days, one week’s accommodation in a Villa, Hotel or Complex will be won, beginning on the 12th December. For more details please visit our Lanzarote Football Club Facebook page.

Don’t forget that if you’re looking for an ideal Christmas present, you can either pop in to our shop in Costa Teguis or click onto our online shop (details below) where we have the new 50th Anniversary shirts in stock as well as many more Christmas presents.
