There’ll be a buzz all over Lanzarote this afternoon as England face Spain in the Women’s Euro Tournament. The match will kick off at 5pm Canarian time.
The two teams last faced each other in the World Cup Final in Sydney Australia in 2023, with Spain winning by a single goal in a match that was sadly eclipsed by events afterwards.
La Roja are also the favourites to lift the trophy today, but fans of the Lionesses are hoping that an extra day’s rest might give them the edge they’ll need to win.
One thing’s sure: the match will be keenly followed in the resorts and in the villages and towns of Lanzarote, where feminine football has received strong support and keen participation.
