The Fiesta de Aguapatas in El Islote takes place over the next week, one of the island’s favourite rural fiestas, which takes place in the small wine-growing village near San Bartolomé.
Aguapatas is a type of weak wine made by adding water to what’s left of the grapes after they’ve been pressed, and the tasting of this drink followed by a folk concert will be one of the events at the celebrations at 8pm this Saturday..
Other events include a nightitme walk at 7.30pm on Tuesday 4th October, a kids’ day and the traditional donkey race at 5pm on Saturday 8th. Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th will also see evening concerts by carnioval bands.
