The Cabildo has presented a new edition of its Consume Lanzarote campaign, investing €500,000 in digital shopping vouchers designed to encourage spending at local businesses and generate up to €1 million in economic activity.
Each voucher will be worth 60 euros, with consumers paying 30 euros and the Cabildo covering the remaining 30 euros.
Residents will be able to purchase up to six vouchers each, giving them a total of 360 euros to spend in participating businesses for a personal contribution of 180 euros. The remaining 180 euros will be funded by the Cabildo.
The vouchers will be digital and can only be redeemed at establishments taking part in the campaign.
The sale of the vouchers will begin on November 3rd at 8am.
Local businesses invited to participate
Self-employed workers, micro-enterprises and small businesses with premises open to the public in Lanzarote will be eligible to participate, provided they meet the requirements set out in the call for applications.
The scheme establishes a maximum eligible subsidy of 6,000 euros per participating business. For fishermen’s cooperatives, the limit rises to 15,000 euros.
