A hiker was rescued from a footpath on the Famara cliffs yesterday after suffering from fractures to the tibia and fibula (shin bones).
Emergency services were contacted at 5pm, and a GES helicopter, firemen and an ambulance were dispatched to the area, where firemen had to move the injured person to a spot that was accessible for the helicopter.
The helicopter then transferred the walker to Arrecife, where they were transferred to the Dr José Molina Orosa Hospital.
