More than 5,000 people packed in front of the main stage in Playa Blanca on Saturday night to witness a live performance by Latin music sensation Elvis Crespo.
The Puerto Rican-born singer delivered a masterclass in merengue during his hour-and-a-half set, proving exactly why his music has endured since the late 1990s. Backed by a superb orchestra and an energetic dance troupe, Crespo never stopped singing and dancing, treating the audience to iconic hits including “Suavemente,” “Tu sonrisa,” and “Píntame.”
Crespo not only performed his own extensive catalogue but also infused tracks by Colombian artists such as Joe Arroyo with his own unique touch, ensuring the crowd was dancing from start to finish.
The artist connected directly with his fans, inviting members of the public onto the stage on two separate occasions to become part of the show. He also stepped down into the safety barrier to get closer to the crowd before bidding them farewell to a standing ovation.
Yaiza Mayor Óscar Noda and Councillor for Festivals Daniel Medina extended their sincere thanks to the public for their enthusiastic response and cooperation.
