An elderly man found himself trapped between his car and a wall in Haría yesterday morning.
At approximately 10:40am yesterday morning, the emergency services were called to calle El Sumidero in Punta Mujeres after reports of an accident.
“The man arrived with his car and parked the vehicle, he thought he had set the handbrake and when he opened the door, the car went forward”, Lanzarote’s Emergency Services Consortium manager, Enrique Espinosa, stated.
Upon arrival, fire fighters found the 87-year-old man had become trapped between the car and the wall and that he was unable to move his leg which had been caught in the accident.
The fire fighters were able to safely move the vehicle and free the 87-year-old who was then checked by ambulance staff before being taken to the Dr Jose Molina Orosa hospital in Arrecife for further checks.
