Christmas starts in earnest in Spain today with the draw for the world’s biggest lottery, El Gordo.
Orphans from a school in Madrid will sing out thew winning prize numbers all morning, and the big winners will be known around lunchtime.
Last year, one of the winning decimo tickets was sold in Arrecife, bringing €400,000 to some lucky islander.
