El Almacén is set to host the return of Alma Femme on Saturday 21st March, a musical event that blends artistic creation with a vital conversation about the role of women in the music industry. The programme will feature a mix of live concerts and DJ sets, carefully curated to showcase the breadth of female creative talent on the contemporary scene.

Spanning genres from pop to hip-hop, and including electronica, indie, and alternative folk, the lineup promises something for everyone. Beyond the performances, the event aims to foster dialogue and reflection on the importance of equal representation within the cultural sphere.

Jesús Machín Tavío, the Cabildo’s Minister for Culture, highlighted the significance of the gathering. He noted that Alma Femme “presents a programme that connects music and thought from a contemporary perspective, focusing on female creators who are enriching the Canary Islands’ soundscape through very different artistic languages.” He added that “the event provides an opportunity to reflect on the importance of helping to build a more diverse and representative cultural scene.”

A Day of Diverse Talent

One of the day’s standout performances will come from Gran Canaria-based composer and drummer Xerach. Her work fuses pop with techno basslines and rhythmic drum patterns, resulting in a multidisciplinary show that blends music, commanding stage presence, and a distinct artistic identity. Her concerts are known for their intensity and her ability to turn a performance into a genuine connection with the audience. Xerach will take to the stage at the Sala Buñuel; tickets are priced at €10 and are available via culturalanzarote.com.

Joining her on the bill is a strong selection of artists linked to the islands’ music scene. The lineup includes Elenn Orange, who brings a sound that blends indie and alternative folk; Velvet Flores, merging pop with electronica; and Julia Rodríguez, who fuses singer-songwriter traditions with influences from Canarian and Latin American folklore. The urban music project 7.70 will also feature, with a lineup comprising Kali Ninmah, Lily Galiano, and Sara Ibala. DJ Soñadora, a familiar name on the Arrecife circuit, will provide a set to keep the energy flowing.
