Arrecife Local Police have announced that last month they stopped a driver who was drunk in charge of a forklift truck on a public highway in the Altavista barrio.
The man had started work with a blood alcohol level of 0,44 mg/l and did not have a driving licence for the forklift truck – vehicles which are prohibited from using public roads.
The incident was one of 45 in January in which drivers were fined for lacking driving licences, insurance or up-to-date ITV stickers.
