Last year, three men were arrested at the César Manrique for attempting to smuggle heroin and cocaine – they will go on trial next Tuesday.
Three hearings have been scheduled for next Tuesday at a court in Arrecife. The prosecution asks for six years in prison for two of the offenders and eight years for the third.
They were arrested last year after being caught trying to smuggle 2.3 kilos of cocaine and heroin through the Lanzarote Airport. The men caught the attention of security personnel who later confirmed their suspicions through a search.
