The Cabildo has announced that the Hoya Limpia road that connect Puerto del Carmen with Tías will be renovated and added to the island’s network of cycle paths.
The road, which runs from behind the Toro restaurant to Tías’ Avenida Central, passes through some of the most picturesque and historically important agricultural land in Macher, full of old crumbling walls and buildings from a time when it was one of the richest areas of the island.
Bids are invited until April 25th for the €622,000 project which will “Eliminate eoad insecurity, improve driving comfort and prolong the useful life of the asphalt,” according to the Minister of Public Works, Jacobo Medina.
Signage will also be replaced, as well as “any other measures to guarantee the safety of drivers, pedestrians and cyclists,” according to Medina.
