The arrival of medium-sized cruisers at Playa Blanca’s new harbour seems more likely following the news that Cabildo President Oswaldo Betancort will be promoting the resort as a a cruise stop at a meeting of cruise operators in Madrid next weekend.
Betancort was a strong supporter of Playa Blanca’s cruise potential before becoming Cabildo President earlier this year and is now in a much stronger position to make it happen.
“We want to attract new cruisers and cruise operators to Arrecife as part of our tourist strategy, “ said Betancort, “and also incorporate Playa Blanca into the circuit for medium-sizer and boutique cruisers”.
To do this, the Cabildo has confirmed Lanzarote’s presence at important trade fairs specialising in cruise tourism.
