The socialist opposition party in Teguise has criticised the neglect of the municipality’s main tourist resort, Costa Teguise.
“It’s not proper that our main resort should have this appearance in high season,” said spokesman and leader of Teguise’s socialists Marcos Bergaz, who criticised “unrecognisable green zones, ruined fences of abandoned hotels, a central reservation in a terrible state and a lack of optimal maintenance.”
The criticism applies to the entry road from Arrecife, but also the golf course road “which still bears signs of the floods of April 12th,” according to Bergaz.
The opposition councillor said that his party had proposed motions to give priority to beautifying Teguise and hiring a new gardening service, but that they had been voted down by the ruling group.
