Teguise’s council is seeking a company to take on a €50,000 contract to rescue the palm trees that line the avenues of the resort.
The six-month job of “recuperation” will involve the trees on the Avenida del Mar, Avenida de Las Islas Canarias, Avenida de las Palmeras, Avenida de Jablillo and Avenida de Las Cucharas.
The council claims that “drought and diseases have badly affected the health of the most widespread species in our parks and gardens.”
