Teguise Ayuntamiento is studying measures to prevent caravans and mobile homes parking in Costa Teguise’s seaside car parks.

The closure of the caravan park at Papagayo and the ban on caravans at Famara are among the factors forcing the island’s campers, who often like to spend days or weeks by the sea, to seek other locations.

The housing crisis has also forced many people into living permanently in mobile homes, although it is not confirmed whether this is a factor in Costa Teguise.

Recently, more than a hundred mobile homes can be found in car parks and streets near the beaches of Las Cucharas, Los Charcos and Playa Bastian.

Teguise is considering introducing height-control barriers in the customary parking places.
