The beaches of Playa Bastian and Playa del Ancla in Costa Teguise have once again been opened for bathing, a week after they were closed.
The closure followed the rupture of a sewage pipe around 50 metres from shore. Although the pipe was rapidly repaired, the beaches have remained shut until the contamination dispersed.
Yesterday, Teguise Ayuntamiento declared that the beaches were once again fit for bathing.
