Costa Teguise will shortly have Lanzarote’s third beach adapted for the use of dogs “and other pets”.
The dog beach will be located in an area of Playa Bastian, the resort’s only natural beach, and the only one that looks out to open sea. Although the precise area has not been specified, we suspect it is likely to be at the western end of the beach towards the Radisson Blue Resort, a zone which is generally used by much fewer people than the main bathing area.
The new dog beach will have areas where dog owners can walk, play and even swim with their pets, always under the condition that the environment is respected. In practice, this means that owners must bag and dispose of dog poo and disinfect areas where they urinate.
Rita Hernández said “We are very happy to announce this important development for our residents and visitors. Enjoying a day at the beach with our dogs was a social demand that we have listened to and responded to.”
