The emergency services were alerted to a report of a missing swimmer at Famara yesterday afternoon.
At approximately 6pm yesterday evening, the emergency services were called to Famara beach after a report that a swimmer had gone missing in the water.
A rescue operation was launched immediately as the emergency team moved from La Graciosa to Famara as quickly as possible.
Upon arrival the emergency services were looking for a swimmer struggling in the water. Fortunately, the missing person was located out of the water and on the shore.
The swimmer was assessed by medical staff but wasn’t in need of medical assistance.
