The Yaiza Ayuntamiento have awarded 300 euros to the first-place winner of their Christmas window dressing competition.

Yaiza’s Commerce Councillor, Ángel Domínguez, along with the Cabildo’s Commerce Councillor, Carmen Guadalupe, presented the prize for the Christmas window dressing competition.

Floristería Los Dolores won the first-place prize of 300 euros and Floristería Yani claimed 200 euros for second place.

The competition was organised to encourage shopkeepers to dress their shopfront windows for Christmas. The jury was made up of popular Lanzarote designer, Oswaldo Machín, Belinda Cedrés, and the councillor, Carmen Guadalupe.

“It is very important that the local businesses get involved in decorating their premises at this time of year, as it is a good attraction for locals and visitors who stroll through the shopping streets – especially those who are looking for Christmas gifts”, stated Domínguez.
