As the year draws to a close, the charming southern resort of Playa Blanca transforms into a hub of festive cheer and community spirit. Based on last year’s festive programme, visitors and residents can look forward to a diverse and joyful schedule of events that capture the unique Canarian way of celebrating Christmas.
The festivities are set to kick off with energetic community events. A highlight is the popular night-time Music Run, a fun-filled event that illuminates the town with sound and spirit. For those seeking a more relaxed pace, the charitable Wine Walk offers a delightful 7km stroll from the iconic Faro de Pechiguera, combining stunning coastal views with tastings of local wines, all in support of a wonderful cause.
Music and culture are at the heart of a Playa Blanca Christmas. Expect a series of free concerts in the Plaza del Carmen, featuring everything from the traditional sounds of the Yaiza Municipal Band and lively folk groups to contemporary live bands. These performances provide the perfect soundtrack to your evening strolls.
For families, the season is especially magical. Children’s Christmas workshops will be held across the town, offering creative fun, while the highly anticipated arrival of Santa Claus sees him parade through the main shopping streets, handing out smiles and sweets.
The festivities culminate with the spectacular Three Kings parades on January 5th, a truly unmissable event where the wise men procession through both Yaiza and Playa Blanca amidst a party atmosphere with games and entertainment.
Throughout the period, you can also browse a traditional Christmas Market in Yaiza’s picturesque Plaza de Los Remedios, perfect for picking up unique gifts and local crafts.
This is just a taste of the festive magic planned for Playa Blanca. The full list of confirmed dates and times for the 2025 Christmas programme will be published in English on our website as soon as it is officially released by the Ayuntamiento de Yaiza later this year. Stay tuned to plan your perfect festive holiday!
