The Tías Ayuntamiento, in collaboration with Conecta Tías, with members of the basketball club CD Magec Tías have planted trees and shrubs in the Tegoyo orchard.

With the initiative “Plántate frente al cambio climático” (Plant yourself against climate change), members of CD Magec Tías and the Ayuntamiento have planted hundreds of trees and shrubs.

The initiative aims to offset the CO2 footprint caused by the basketball team’s flights to the mainland to participate in sports competitions.

The Reserva de la Biosfera de Lanzarote provided them with carob trees, guaidiles, tarajales, tabaibas and veroles, among other species.
