Call for lifesavers at Playa Flamingo

The opposition PP in Yaiza have called on the Mayor to re-establish a lifesaving post at Playa Flamingo in Playa Blanca.

The lifesaving service at the beach was withdrawn during the pandemic of 2020 and never replaced. Playa Flamingo is one of the resort’s three most important beaches, along with Playa Dorada and the blue-flagged town beach.

“The ruling group cannot keep looking the other way while thousands of people a week come to a bathing area that does not have the minimum safety guarantees, “said the PP’s Juan Monzón. “We are particularly concerned that, despite our repeated requests, the government persists with this negligence.”

Playa Flamingo is a popular family beach and scuba diving zone.
