A movement of warm air from the African mainland brought calima conditions to Lanzarote yesterday.
The General Emergency Directorate issued a pre-warning for all islands starting from midday, and the hazy conditions became evident on Lanzarote shortly afterwards.
The calima had mostly cleared by Tuesday morning as the wind started to swing back to the prevailing north-eastern alisio.
