A 38-year-old French woman was rescued from the Caldera Blanca on Sunday after twisting her ankle.
Emergency services received a call at 12.20 pm, informing of the accident and that the victim was unable to walk.
Firemen searched the rim of the volcano until they located the woman, her leg was put in a splint, and she was carried to an ambulance in a KONG stretcher by firemen and local police.
The incident occurred a week after emergency services rescued two hikers who had got lost in the Caldera Blanca after dark.
