The Cabildo’s Culture Councillor, Alberto Aguiar, held a meeting with the island councils and with local folklore groups to talk about the planned activities and performances this December.
Running from the 1st of December until 5th January 2023, it will involve the participation of 19 groups, 13 parrandas, 10 choirs and five ranchos de pascua.
Aguiar explained that the island’s councils will be responsible for confirming where groups will perform and when.
“Christmas is an ideal time to enjoy culture in all its manifestations and, above all, to do so with family and loved ones. That is why, we have agreed to increase the budget of this initiative by 25% with respect to 2021, reaching nearly 100,000 euros,” detailed the councillor.
“Soon we will announce activities and performances framed in a programme that is already in the final stages of development and that we are convinced will bring the Christmas spirit to the streets of the whole island,” Aguiar concluded.
