The Cabildo have announced that the Fobos sculpture on the Tachiche roundabout will soon be illuminated at night to demonstrate the “importance of César Manrique.”.
César Manrique’s Fobos sculpture underwent an extensive maintenance work last year and was reinstated at the roundabout in Tahiche last November.
Fobos is located at the site of the crossroads where Manrique lost his life in a car accident in 1992, a short distance from the César Manrique Foundation.
The Cabildo has announced that after last year’s repairs, the Fobos sculpture will now be illuminated at night with LED lights.
“Now, we will enjoy a restored and illuminated ‘Fobos’, demonstrating the importance of the legacy of César Manrique,” stated the head of public works, Jacobo Medina.
In addition to this, the Cabildo continues to carry out the restoration plan of the windmills of Lanzarote, and recently the Arrieta toy was removed for repairs.
