Lanzarote’s Cabildo has approved expenditure of €6.25 million on improving the water supply system to Tinajo and western Teguise.
The current pipeline between Montaña Mina and Mozaga is insufficient for demand, so a new line will be installed connecting Montaña Mina with the Tinajo- Tao- Famara system.
Cabildo President Oswaldo Betancort said “the increase in demand, due not only to population growth but also to the boom in agricultural activity, must be addressed by expanding and improving our transportation and distribution network to adapt it to current and future needs.”
He added that the pipeline “will provide Lanzarote with a new and modern water distribution network and, after the completion of the Northern Line works, will ensure that the island will be able to receive better-quality drinking water in every town on the island.”
