The Cabildo’s environment councillor, Nicolas Saavedra, has condemned the actions of two young people who ignored strict rules, climbed the mountain behind El Golfo and posted a video on social media.
“We energetically condemn these type of actions, “ said Saavedra. “It is important that we all respect our surroundings and the laws that exist to protect them.” The Cabildo is attempting to identify the makers of the video with the possibility of fining them.
A few days ago, two tourists also scrambled down to the Charco de los Clicos (the green lake) at El Golfo, despite being strictly prohibited from doing so.
