Yaiza Ayuntamiento raised its two newly renewed Blue Flag for the small beach in Playa Blanca and the Puerto Calero Marina this Monday.
Beach flags can indicate a number of things about the beaches you visit, green means bathing allowed orange to swim with caution, red is swimming forbidden.
However, the Blue Flag is awarded to beaches and marinas that offer excellent facilities and environmental conditions.
Mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, stated “For Yaiza it is a great pride to hold two blue flags, since we are a quality tourist destination in the Canary Islands and this internationally prestigious award helps us to maintain our positioning.”
Yaiza beaches and tourism councillor, Daniel Medina, added that “our small beach is equipped with an accessibility ramp and walkway, shaded area for people with reduced mobility, and a lifeguard service, which make the town of Playa Blanca deserving of its blue flag.”
