A search for a bather in trouble off the coast of Los Pocillos was downgraded to “passive” yesterday after no trace of the swimmer was found on Thursday.
Emergency services were contacted by a hotel receptionist who saw a bather calling for help on Thursday. However, a sea, air and land search failed to find any trace of the bather. A bag was discovered on the beach, but did not contain anything that could identify the owner and it appears that no one has yet been reported missing.
Yesterday, firemen searched the coastline and police asked questions in the vicinity of the beach, but no further news has been reported.
