Bather drowns at Guacimeta

A 70-year-old man drowned at the Guacimeta beach between Playa Honda and Matagorda yesterday.

After being reported missing, the bather was retrieved from the sea by windsurfers around 400 metres from shore after going missing at around 5 pm.

All attempts at resuscitation failed and death was confirmed after the body had been transported  to Arrecife’s pier by a rescue vessel.
