Spain’s bank holidays can be confusing, with some applying to the entire nation while others only apply to local municipalities. Here are the bank holidays for September 2025.
On most holidays, public buildings, banks and many smaller shops and businesses will be closed. However, larger shopping centres, supermarkets and several businesses in the resorts will open as usual.
On national holidays, lower (weekend) electricity tariffs apply.
This month’s holidays are as follows:
8th September: Fiesta de los Remedios. A holiday in the municipality of Yaiza
15th September: Nuestra Señora de los Volcanes. A holiday on Lanzarote.
