A Ryanair flight from Manchester to Lanzarote was compelled to request a priority landing on Tuesday night following an onboard altercation involving a disruptive passenger.
The flight, which touched down at the Lanzarote Airport shortly before 11:00pm, was met by Guardia Civil officers on the runway. This response was the result of a request from the crew after a female passenger reportedly caused a major disturbance and physically assaulted fellow passengers.
Due to the gravity of the situation, air traffic control intervened to expedite the aircraft’s arrival. They reorganised the air traffic approach pattern, shortening its holding time and clearing a path for it to land ahead of schedule.
The disruptive individual was removed from the aircraft immediately upon landing and taken into custody by the awaiting authorities.
