The man arrested for allegedly setting fire to 118 rubbish containers on the island has been released while awaiting his trial.
This month, the National Police arrested the person that they suspected to have been involved in the recent influx of rubbish container fires that have been reported nearly every week on the island.
Amounting to a total of more than 140,000 euros worth of damage, 118 containers have been set on fire in Costa Teguise, Arrecife, Playa Honda and Puerto del Carmen.
After being caught on CCTV, the police arrested the 41-year-old Playa Honda resident.
The 41-year-old was brought before the court this Monday and admitted to some of the charges he faces and was released awaiting trial.
