The kitchen will have a social worker, two canteen assistance, a cleaner and a vehicle for transferring those on the street to the community kitchen.

Mayor of Arrecife, Astrid Pérez, stated “protecting the most vulnerable and meeting their basic food needs is one of our biggest priorities.

This initiative is necessary for a city which has experienced the two years of Covid and its impacts.”.

Social Services Councilor, María Jesús Tovar, also stated “It’s very important as EMERLAN will look for vulnerable people in the municipality, who need help, and will assist them.

We want to assure vulnerable people in the municipality, who get by with begging, that their food needs will be met.”.
