Arrecife has started to replace every street sign in the capital. The signs will be renewed at a cost of €141,000.
1,995 signs will be required, as well as 50 posts for streets where signs can’t be fixed to walls.
Each sign will measure 50 x 30 cms and carry the street name in white on a blue background. Arrecife’s coat of arms will also appear on every sign.
“Making the identification of streets more easy has been a priority of ours since we started to govern, “ said Mayor Astrid Pérez. “Many signs are in a poor state and Arrecife must show the names of its streets clearly to residents and visitors.”
Replacement of signs has already started in the Argana Alta area of the city.
