The extension of Arrecife’s dock is likely to be completed by the end of the year if works go according to plan.

Constructors are waiting for seven caissons – underwater chambers that will form the basis of the extension. Once installed, various works will take place on land.

A shortage of lorries on the island has delayed the project, and may lead to further setbacks, but the extension is pencilled in to be ready by the New Year.

The expanded dock will be 149.7 meters in length with a width of 13 meters, in addition to a ro-ro ramp measuring 37 by 30.5 meters. Access through Puerto Naos, next to the leisure marina and close to the dock for cruise ships.
