Arrecife hospital obtains CAT accreditation

Arrecife’s Dr José Molina Orosa hospital has obtained accreditation from Fundación CAT for quality in blood transfusion.

Fundación CAT is a certification organisation in the field of transfusion medicine, cell and tissue therapy, constituted by the Spanish Society of Hematology and Hemotherapy and the Spanish Society of Blood Transfusion and Cell Therapy.

The Dr José Molina Orosa hospital obtained its CAT accreditation after undergoing an extensive inspection of their activities and documentation, and after passing an audit of the different areas. The accreditation is the result of the efforts of the professionals of the hospital’s blood transfusion service, and demonstrates compliance with quality standards.

In 2023, the service performed a total of 3,555 transfusions to patients.
