Arrecife Ayuntamiento has claimed that the change of route for yesterday’s carnival parade was an “outstanding success”.
Thousands of islanders attended the parade, which made its way from the football ground to the Puerto Naos area of the capital, instead of Playa Reducto.
26 floats took to the streets, along with 22 dancing, drumming, and singing groups. The Winner of the float competition was the impressive “Charco de San Ginés Monster”.
Today it’s the turn of San Bartolomé, whose carnival parade will take to the streets at 12 midday at C/ Constitucion.
Today is also Carnival Tuesday, a public holiday in all parts of the island except the municipality of Yaiza.
