The Mayor of Arrecife, Astrid Pérez, presented three new electric minibuses this week, which are soon to be a part of the public transport fleet in Arrecife.

With an investment of approximately 860,000 euros, the three new buses are 100% electric and come “after more than 20 years” since the last new buses were introduced to the existing fleet.

Pérez stated that this new addition “will mark a before and after in the service currently provided”.

“Arrecife puts Lanzarote on the path of sustainable and environmentally friendly public transport with the introduction of 0% emission vehicles which contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions on the island”, Pérez added.

The three buses will be used to reinforce the two existing lines as well as resume the line between the city centre and the Dr José Molina Orosa Hospital, which will start as soon as three drivers are incorporated.
