Today is All Saints’ Day, a public holiday in Spain. On this day, many families visit cemeteries to pay their respects to the departed.
On Lanzarote, the tradition of los finaos is also observed in some towns, with folk groups walking the streets and playing songs for the dead.
As usual on public holidays, large supermarkets, shopping centres and many shops, restaurants and bars in the resorts will remain open. However, banks, non-retail businesses and most businesses in the non-tourists towns and villages will be closed.
As a national holiday, low electricity tariffs apply all days.
