The airline celebrates this year its 80th anniversary and 22 years of connecting Ireland to Lanzarote.
These awards recognise excellence, commitment, innovation and the trajectory of people, companies and entities that contribute significantly to the development of tourism on Lanzarote.
Cabildo President, Oswaldo Betancort, highlighted the relevance of these awards, “as an expression of the recognition to those who have helped to build Lanzarote as a more competitive, sustainable and first-class destination”.
“The historical link between Aer Lingus and Lanzarote is a clear example of loyal, sustained and fruitful cooperation with tangible results for our tourism sector,” Betancort stressed.
CEO of SPEL-Turismo Lanzarote, Héctor Fernández, pointed out that, “it is great news that the board, as jury of the awards, has considered this proposal, since Aer Lingus represents the Irish market, the most loyal to the island, with an outstanding spending capacity.”
Fernandez added that, “Aer Lingus passengers belong to an upper-middle range profile, and the company, as part of the IAG alliance, channels tourists with the highest purchasing power in Ireland”. Its stable connectivity with Lanzarote and its continued contribution to island tourism justify receiving this award,” Fernandez concluded.
