AEMET, Spain’s weather agency, has issued yellow alerts for wind and high seas starting at midday on Thursday 26th February and continuing for 24 hours until midday on Friday 27th.

North winds that could reach up to 70 kph are forecast, along with waves of 4 to 5 metres in height, again mainly affecting the north and north-western coastlines.

The Canarian Government has also issued a pre-alert beginning from 4 pm today (Wednesday 25th) and extending through Thursday.

As usual in recent months, extreme care should be taken on exposed zones of the north and north-west coasts.

Rain is also predicted for tonight and Thursday, with the possibility of storms. However, no alert has yet been issued suggesting that the rainfall is not expected to be too heavy.
