It’s great to see sports events in Lanzarote, and especially when the track runs right through the middle of a town!

The time trial race on Saturday saw cyclists reach up to 55 kilometres per hour just before having to brake on a corner. The fans applauded non-stop during the day, according to reports.

There were big names in the sport too, Frenchman Mathieu Bosredon, Jonas Van De Steen and Luis Miguel García-Marquina. García-Marquina received a bronze medal at the individuals time trial race at the Tokyo Paralympic Games.

Mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, stated “They have treated us very well and will surely return to the island.”.

The race ended without incident or issues, it was a perfect day all round.
